Rent-a-Brammo Arrives in San Francisco

Dubbelju Motorcycle Rentals, a San Francisco fixture for 20 years, will soon flip the switch on its new electric motorcycle rentals, utilizing Brammo Enertias.  From their website:

The future of motorcycling is here! Dubbelju is proud and excited to announce that we’re adding a Brammo Enertia electric motorcycle to our line-up. Starting soon, you’ll be able to explore San Francisco on this fun, lightweight, peppy bike. With a top speed of 60 mph and an average range of 65+ miles, this avant-garde machine will take you where you need to go in green comfort and green style. Call or email us today for more information on how you can be among the first to rent this bike.

Rates for the Enertia are $69.00 for a half-day (5 hours) and $99.00 for a full day.  You can also rent necessary gear (helmet, jacket, pants) and it looks like Dubbelju does more than just hand you a map.  One great feature of the rental program is that Dubbelju provides “24 Hour Emergency Road Service.”  This feature might come in handy if people rely on the site’s specifications, which list “65+ mile range” as one of the Enertia’s features.  (Note to Dubbelju: Might want to correct that one.)

What a great city for the first (as far as I know) Brammo bike rental company.  Watch this space for more news about this endeavor as it becomes available.

Very cool. Bet they get a lot of try before you buy business.

Not having had a chance to ride an Enertia – how are they on climbing hills? San Francisco has a few steep hills, you may have heard.

BTW there’s a Hertz (IIRC) outlet in SF that’s renting electric cars, as well.

They also should do this down on Key West. There’s a huge ICE scooter rental industry down there.
