The TTXGP Blog just announced the expansion of next year’s race on the Isle of Man:
Plans for the TTXGP on the Isle of Man are now underway and we have now expanded the programme to include the first TTXGP SuperMoto class along side the road racing championship. In partnership with the Peveril Motorcycle Club (PMC), we are expanding the sport, the thrills and the access whilst pushing the technology still further and faster then anybody else. The PMC has been established since 1923 and has hosted rounds of the World Trials Championships on several occasions and held the first Supermoto event on the Isle of Man in 2005 as part of the British Championship.
The blog also hinted at some details of how the SuperMoto class would be integrated into racing week:
This all new part of the programme will be integrated into the TT Festival of Motorsport. It will see next generation of all electric SuperMotos take to Douglas beach. Options are being examined to extend the course from the beach and onto the famous Isle of Man promenade and parts of the Douglas town. Details for this are still to be confirmed once consultation with agencies is complete. All in all, it promises to be a thrilling and spectacular event and a new addition to the TT.
A hint at another TTXGP feature that prospective racers have been waiting for was also mentioned:
This month we supplied evidence to a UK Govt Committee on Innovation and took delivery of our first rolling chassis that will become TTX02 – the 50 unit limited edition run for those wanting to be part of TTXGP and would benefit from having a 2009 champion as a platform to build upon.. but more on that later.
